"Michigan students have fallen behind because of state and local governments that kept them out of the classroom. Kids were forced to learn on Zoom and when parents saw what was going on, many of them were outraged by lesson plans that were not focused on what their kids should be learning," said Moolenaar. "Parents are the best advocates for students, and this legislation ensures they can be involved in their children's education."

The Congressmen wrote, “The scope and burden of this heavy-handed regulation are not consistent with the reality on the ground in these Southwest Michigan counties. The EPA must recognize that given these counties’ locations, meteorological factors likely brought the pollutants into this region from more major industrial centers like Chicago, IL; Gary, IN; and Milwaukee, WI. Notably, contiguous counties such as Van Buren and Ottawa were not included in this EPA decision. Furthermore, the compliance costs associated with the CAA requirements will improperly impose devastating economic losses on our hardworking communities… While we understand the need for air quality standards, this decision impacting our communities is not appropriate.”

"As the Chinese Communist Party tries to hide the origins of COVID and blame others, the American people deserve to know how the pandemic began," said Moolenaar, a member of the House Select Committee on China. "Transparency in our government is one of the many traits that sets America apart from China’s oppressive government and we are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history with the CCP. The American people should know the evidence that has been gathered on the origins of COVID-19.”

"Michigan farmers work hard while dealing with the weather, rising costs, and the 24/7 needs of their farms. The Biden administration’s new rule is imposed by executive order and goes too far. It would allow bureaucrats in Washington D.C. to regulate the puddles and ditches on farmers’ fields," said Moolenaar. "I voted to overturn Biden’s rule - so farmers can focus on growing food instead of worrying about Biden’s red tape."

"After two years of reckless spending and record inflation that destroyed the wages and purchasing power of Michigan residents, President Biden has another plan for more runaway spending,” said Moolenaar. “The American people cannot afford Biden’s tax hikes, spending increases, and further expansion of the federal government. Biden’s plan has no chance of passing Congress as is and I will be fighting for common sense policies that will get our country back on track.”

"Last night was heartbreaking for the Michigan State community across the state and around the world. The incredible response by students and law enforcement helped keep people safe from the criminal who committed heinous acts of violence against innocent people. All of us in Michigan are thankful for the medical professionals who helped the injured, and for the authorities who identified and tracked down the perpetrator. In this difficult time, may the victims and their families feel loved and comforted by their friends, their faith, and the helping hands of Michiganders."

"Thank you to the men and women of our military for the work they did to shoot down the airborne object over Lake Huron. This object flew over Michigan and other parts of the country. I hope it will quickly be recovered and identified with more information made available to the public as soon as possible. I will continue to be in contact with officials at the Department of Defense to help ensure Michigan residents are safe."

"Our veterans sacrificed to protect our freedoms and keep our nation safe. As they finish serving and enter the workforce, they often face new challenges. The fellowship program created by my legislation can help veterans gain the skills they need for full-time employment and make an easier transition to a new career,” said Moolenaar.
