"The historic flooding across our state warrants a significant response. My team and I have been in constant communication with local officials regarding the impact of the flooding. I applaud the dedication of the first responders, and local governments who kept their communities safe during this situation, and are now planning long-term clean up processes," Moolenaar said. 

"Selfridge is a critical asset to our national security and a major contributor to Michigan's economy. President Trump rightly recognizes its role in our keeping our country safe and committed a new fighter mission to the base last year. However, there is work to be done to update the base to fit the needs of the new F-15EX fighters. As the only House appropriator from our state, I will always work with my Michigan colleagues to bring critical funding like this to the state to improve our economy and keep our country safe," said Moolenaar.

“America’s rail system plays a vital role in our economy and our national defense,” said Moolenaar. “We cannot allow the companies with ties to the Chinese Communist Party access to information that could track sensitive shipments and undermine our national security. Our bipartisan legislation addresses dangerous oversights in existing law and ensures this critical infrastructure is protected.”

"President Trump delivered a powerful message in recognition of our nation's 250th birthday and our renewed commitment to preserving the American dream for future generations. After struggling for years to make ends meet under the previous administration, the American people are finally starting to see relief with inflation cooling from record highs, and historic tax cuts for working families in Michigan," said Moolenaar. "The President spoke clearly about our work to secure investment into our nation and workers, reinvigorate American industry, bring in good jobs, and allow us to innovate. His address also emphasized the important work of our law enforcement agencies to secure our border and remove criminal illegal immigrants from our communities. Thanks to President Trump's leadership abroad, the United States is stronger today than it was before he retook office, and our military is more capable than ever to deter our adversaries."

“Michigan is ready to lead the nation in drone innovation, testing, and manufacturing,” said Moolenaar. “Today’s announcement is an important step forward as we reenergize Michigan’s defense manufacturing industry. It will harness Michigan’s private sector innovators, manufacturing expertise, and advanced training facilities to help strengthen our national security.”

"Today's bills fund important programs that support Michigan families. They deliver a pay raise for our brave men and women in the military, bolster funding for rural health care, and strengthen our border security," said Moolenaar. "They also invest in housing to make it affordable again."

“The funding I secured will bring much-needed support for projects throughout Michigan’s Second District,” said Moolenaar. “These projects, which range from water system improvements to dredging a harbor, were requested by local leaders to make sure tax dollars are spent wisely. I will continue to ensure rural areas in our district are never left behind and necessary projects, that strengthen our communities and improve quality of life for families, are funded."

“These bills fund important programs that are crucial to Michigan families. They increase funding to fight the fentanyl crisis, protect the Great Lakes, combat online scams, and invest in STEM education,” said Moolenaar. “They also fund the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to continue construction of the Soo Locks, and maintain our harbors.”
