Life and Adoption

I believe that everyone has an unalienable right to life and that life begins at conception. We must work to protect life and ensure that every child has the opportunity to live life to the fullest.

Hand-in-hand with my belief in the sanctity of life is my belief in the importance of adoptions. I am committed to supporting policies that promote adoption as a way to provide safe and loving homes for children.

September 24, 2021 Press Release
“It is vital to protect unborn children – they are the most vulnerable people in our society and the right to life is a founding principle of our country. Each unborn child is precious and worthy of protection, but today's legislation would tragically make it easier for their lives to be cut short. Science shows us that babies in the womb have a heartbeat after six weeks, arms and legs after ten weeks, and all of their major organs after 15 weeks. We must protect these innocent lives and I will continue to support resources for mothers, children, and young families,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who voted against the Democrats' abortion bill.
January 29, 2021 Press Release
“President Biden’s executive order takes money from hardworking Michigan families and sends it to foreign countries where it will be used to support the abortion of innocent, unborn children,” said Moolenaar. “Taxpayer money should never be used to support abortion and today I was proud to visit with two local organizations here in Michigan who are supporting parents and children during and after pregnancy. These organizations do outstanding work to help young families and I know people across mid and northern Michigan are thankful for all they do to protect the vulnerable in our region.”
December 6, 2019 Press Release
“Residents in mid and northern Michigan sometimes have to travel long distances to meet with a doctor because there is not one in their area. It is my hope that this legislation will result in better care for patients, with more doctors living and working closer to those they care for in our rural communities where they are needed most.”
April 2, 2019 Press Release
Today, Congressman John Moolenaar signed a discharge petition on the House floor that would bring H.R. 962, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act sponsored by Congresswoman Ann Wagner of Missouri, to the floor for a vote.
January 18, 2019 Press Release
"It's wonderful to see young people from Valley Lutheran going to Washington and participating in our country's civic process. The right to life is a bedrock principle of our country and we should do more to protect the unborn, who are the most vulnerable people in our society."
January 3, 2019 Press Release
"I will always defend the right to life of unborn children in the womb because they are the most vulnerable people in our society and each of their lives is a special gift. It is disappointing that Democrats have made it a top priority in the new year to use taxpayer funding to end the lives of these innocent children.
