"Our commitment to the brave men and women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces will never waiver. The FY27 NDAA will help ensure our military remains the world's premiere fighting force, and provides increased support those who serve and their families. This legislation is a win for Michigan; restores our defense industrial base, provides vital funding for Selfridge Air National Guard Base and opens the door to new innovations in a constantly changing battlefield. I'm also proud my provision to prevent foreign surveillance of military cargo was included in this bill to bolter our national security," said Moolenaar.

"Rural Michiganders should be able to receive the same quality of health care as non-rural residents. My Medicare Access to Rural Anesthesiology Act will help rural hospitals recruit and pay physician anesthesiologists so their patients can access the level of care they deserve. I am grateful for Chairman Jason Smith and his leadership on the Ways and Means Committee to advance this commonsense, bipartisan legislation," said Moolenaar. 

"Rural Michigan residents deserve to have access to the highest quality health care available. That is why we must modernize Medicare's regulations and allow rural hospitals to recruit and pay physician anesthesiologists. Our commonsense, bipartisan legislation makes a small change to existing law to let these hospitals effectively use the funds already available to them and ensure Americans in rural communities can receive the anesthesia services they need, when they need them," said Moolenaar.

"Michigan and its residents have played a crucial role in our nation's history, making significant contributions in manufacturing, medicine, government, and more. The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence serves as an important opportunity for us to rededicate ourselves to the principles that make our nation the greatest country on earth and educate young people on the legacy of the Founders and these great Michiganders. As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, I encourage all Michigan residents to reflect on the ideals set forth by our Founders in the Declaration of Independence," said Moolenaar. 

"If there was a standardized test for TB in tissue donations from human cadavers, Shandra may be alive today. HHS must conduct this crucial research and explore how this testing can be done," said Congressman Moolenaar. "This bipartisan bill will do just that and take a necessary first step towards preventing more families from experiencing the heartache Shandra's has been through."

“The historic flooding and major storms this spring brought significant damages to communities across our state. Since April, local leaders and first responders throughout the Second District have worked tirelessly to recover from this crisis. Still, residents and the effected communities are facing substantial costs to rebuild. I support Governor Whitmer’s request of President Trump to declare a major disaster. Today, I joined my Michigan Congressional colleagues to urge FEMA to approve this request so Michigan communities can get access to the resources they need," said Moolenaar.
