"Many hardworking Michigan residents decided to forgo college and instead pursue opportunities in the skilled trades. Today, they do welding, plumbing, pipefitting, and other vital services we need. President Biden wants to make them pay for the degrees and debt other people ran up at college. His unconstitutional and unfair plan penalizes people who never ran up college debt and those who paid off their loans on their own. The legislation I support will end his reckless, law-breaking attempt to spend billions of dollars with no approval from Congress,”  said Moolenaar, Michigan’s only member of the House Appropriations Committee, which decides funding levels for federal departments, agencies, and programs.

"I have been leading the effort to stop spending unused COVID funding and save money for taxpayers. President Biden has now admitted that unused COVID funding is no longer needed and said my proposal is on the table in negotiations on our nation’s spending. He should swiftly accept this common sense idea to rein in his runaway spending,” said Moolenaar.

"CCP-controlled TikTok just censored a West Michigan think tank for telling the truth. This is yet another example of how the CCP uses its resources in America to expand its influence over our communities. TikTok claims to be independent from the CCP, but this shows otherwise. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to ban Tiktok or force its sale to an American company,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

"Congratulations to Julia on her talent as an artist and painting a wonderful piece of art. Her painting will represent our district well as it is displayed in the Capitol alongside art from across the country. I also want to thank all the students who participated in this year's Congressional Art Competition for showing off their skills and entering some incredible art,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

"The Biden administration is raising mortgage fees for families who played by the rules and saved to buy a home. It is wrong to penalize these hardworking families and make it harder for them to buy a home. That is why I support legislation to stop President Biden's unfair mortgage rule," said Moolenaar.

"The Chinese Communist Party will stop at nothing to gain an advantage on the United States. That includes setting up CCP police stations around the country to undermine American security and harass people who speak out against China. It is unacceptable for these stations to be active in the US and the FBI must provide answers to the American people and act swiftly to defend the country," said Moolenaar.

"Today's legislation will end Biden’s reckless spending and save taxpayer dollars. Our country’s debt requires us to look at ideas to reduce spending and choose the most important priorities. COVID funding was approved two years ago as emergency spending. Now that the emergency is over, it is just common sense to stop that spending," said Moolenaar.

"To take millions of dollars from Michigan taxpayers and give it to a subsidiary of a company that pledges allegiance to the Chinese Communist Party is a historic mistake by the Michigan legislature. This proposed facility will be 100 miles from Camp Grayling where the Michigan National Guard has trained military partners from Taiwan to prepare for possible CCP aggression. Yet, Michigan's state government leaders are siding with CCP-affiliated companies," said Moolenaar.

"Treasury's response fails to provide information on CCP investment in Michigan and reflects how the federal review process is broken. During the 46 days it took to craft this insufficient reply, CFIUS could have conducted a review of the CCP-affiliated Gotion project in Mecosta County. The lack of transparency in this process is concerning and people should be able to know that a company that is trying to come into their community is being reviewed for its ties,” said Congressman Moolenaar.

"Our country’s debt requires us to look at ideas to reduce spending and choose the most important priorities. My legislation eliminates funding that was approved two years ago as emergency spending. Now that the emergency is over, it is just common sense to stop that spending,” said Moolenaar.
