These amendments add crucial provisions that protect American taxpayer dollars from funding research that would directly benefit China’s military. "While organizers claim it is “designed to address the current political moment and to bring together critical voices,” this event and those like it are platforms for inciting violence and anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitic attacks are at a record high and have increased dramatically since Hamas’ October 7th terrorist attack in Israel. Our nation is under no obligation to allow those connected with terror groups to enter the U.S. and endanger our communities In light of these concerns, we urge your Department to deny any travel visas to any such person traveling into the U.S. for this event," the lawmakers wrote to Secretary Rubio.

“The Defense Appropriations Act passed today restores peace through strength, gives a well-deserved pay raise to our troops, and supports Northern Strike right here in Michigan,” said Moolenaar. “It ensures our military remains the most capable in the world by funding next generation aircraft, missile defense, and space capabilities to deter our adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party. This critical legislation puts our service members and their families first, with funding for equipment upgrades and enhanced quality of services so they can continue to keep America safe.”

“President Trump has been consistent. A nuclear Iran poses a threat to our nation, our military personnel, and our allies in the region. His decision to strike Iran is necessary to keep our nation and our allies safe, and ensure the number one sponsor of terrorism does not develop nuclear weapons.”

“The criminal charges unsealed in federal court show loyal members of the Chinese Communist Party were planning to experiment on a plant disease that would devastate Michigan agriculture and the food supply our nation depends on. This case should be fully prosecuted as a threat against our country. This is only further proof that American universities must be more vigilant when it comes to research security and the participation of Chinese nationals in these institutions,” said Moolenaar.

"Gotion and its parent company have well-documented ties to the Chinese Communist Party and under no circumstance should American taxpayers fund companies beholden to our adversaries. I am grateful the House Ways and Means Committee has passed my NO GOTION policy in its budget reconciliation package. This policy will ensure that the federal tax dollars of hard-working Michigan families never go to Gotion and other companies affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party. This is common sense, and I will continue my work in Congress to ensure this becomes law.”
