Jobs and the Economy

Unnecessary and burdensome regulations have hindered economic growth and job creation in America. That is why I am fighting for smarter, pro-growth policies that get government out of the way and help small businesses expand and hire new workers. In fact, I have supported overturning numerous regulations written by unelected bureaucrats who do not understand the negative consequences of the rules they wrote.
Michigan has a talented workforce and world-leading manufacturing base, and we can keep it that way by promoting opportunities in the skilled trades. I am committed to ensuring residents have the opportunity to learn career and technical skills that are vital to applying for good-paying jobs.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on this committee as the work we do will affect Michiganders and all Americans for years to come. China has been actively working to weaken America. It is buying U.S. farmland, stealing inventions, jeopardizing the health of every person in the world, and building up its military while threatening its neighbors. I look forward to working with my colleagues to address all of these issues, as well as our nation’s supply chain concerns, in order to better prepare America for the challenges from the Chinese Communist Party,” said Moolenaar.

"Vice President Kamala Harris is bringing the Biden administration’s record of failure to Michigan, where families have dealt with soaring inflation for the past 18 months,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “This winter, the higher costs of Biden’s inflation have forced Michigan families and seniors to buy fewer groceries, lower their thermostats, and travel less. It may be a new year, but for Michigan families it is another month of higher prices under Biden and Harris. I will be working to rein in inflation and develop more American energy to get the country back on track."

“President Biden and the Democrats have passed four spending bills of more than a trillion dollars in less than two years. This reckless and obscene spending has saddled Michigan families with record inflation and left them poorer than they were two years ago while they struggle to afford necessities like food and energy. There is no reason to continue spending this amount of money in such a short period of time. The pandemic is over, inflation is soaring, and Michigan residents need Washington to stop wasting money,” said Moolenaar.

"Christmas gifts and travel are costing Michigan families more this year as they face another month of rising prices across the board. Families have been squeezed by the trillions in partisan spending by President Biden and they have endured a difficult year of record-high gas costs, rising food prices, and higher home energy bills,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “In the new year, I will continue the work I have been doing to fight Biden’s spending policies so we can rein in inflation, develop more American energy, and get the country back on track.”

"President Biden has already failed Michigan families and his massive partisan spending bills have helped cause record-high inflation. In fact, Farm Bureau estimated this year’s Thanksgiving meal cost families 20 percent more than last year. Now, Biden is coming to Michigan to say he supports American manufacturing. The sad truth is he signed a $300 billion tax hike on American manufacturers last summer,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“I welcome the news that Speaker Pelosi is stepping down from leadership and I wish her and her family well. The American people overwhelmingly believe our country is on the wrong track and much of that has to do with the policies Speaker Pelosi pushed forward, including burdensome regulations on Michigan small businesses and trillions in new spending. With Speaker Pelosi stepping down in the new year, there is now an opportunity for Congress to go in a new direction. I will be working to curb inflation, support American energy independence, and put our country back on the right track.”

"President Biden's inflation crisis is forcing Michigan families and seniors to spend hundreds of dollars extra each month to fill up their gas tank, keep their fridge full of food, and to heat their home. The trillions in wasteful spending from this administration has sent the cost of living soaring and put the economy on the path to another recession," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "I am working to reverse the policies of this failed administration so the economy will work for Michiganders again."

"Michiganders are already facing higher energy prices because of President Biden's policies, and now he wants to raise taxes again on American energy. These higher costs will be passed on to Michigan families and hurt their pocketbooks,” said Moolenaar. "Instead of raising taxes on energy producers, we must encourage American energy development, including more oil and gas, that will create jobs and bolster our national security."

“Chemistry benefits every American with new innovations in science, medicine, and the household goods we use every day. Chemistry is a key part of the economy, employing Americans with good-paying jobs and helping ensure our country leads the world for years to come. National Chemistry Week is a celebration of how chemistry makes the world a better place and it encourages talented students to look at careers in science,” said Moolenaar.

"President Biden's inflation crisis has been hurting Michigan families and seniors for more than a year and a half. They have been forced to spend hundreds of dollars more each month to put gas in their car, put food on their table, and cover the cost of living in Biden's economy," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "When Republicans led the House of Representatives, we had a strong economy with low inflation and affordable energy. We can get there again if we reverse the policies of this failed administration.”
