“President Trump has kept his promise to fight for a better deal for our state. This new trade agreement is a win for agriculture and manufacturing that opens new markets for Michigan farmers and creates more opportunities for Michigan-made goods. The economy is strong right now with low unemployment and raising wages, and I believe Michigan workers will continue to thrive under this new agreement because they’re the best in the world.”

“This new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada levels the playing field for Michigan workers and opens new markets for Michigan farmers, including Canada’s dairy market. Manufacturing will also benefit, and hardworking men and women will see more demand for the Michigan-made products they make every day. President Trump promised a new, fairer agreement for our country and he has delivered. I welcome the Senate's bipartisan support for this historic new agreement."

“Today, President Trump kept his promise to the American people to negotiate better trading conditions with China. All Americans understand that China was taking advantage of some policies, and in certain cases it was stealing intellectual property from American companies. This agreement is another step in the right direction toward a better deal with China, and it will mean more opportunities for farmers to sell their products in that country."

"Hardworking men and women in Michigan are enjoying a strong economy right now with rising wages and low unemployment. The USMCA is another win for those workers because it levels the playing field for manufacturing and makes our country more competitive with our neighbors. This agreement also helps Michigan farmers, especially our dairy farmers in the Fourth District, by opening new markets for them to sell their products."

“The USMCA is a tremendous victory for the American people and President Trump. This new trade agreement with our neighbors will benefit Michigan workers and Michigan farmers. We have the best workers in the world and this agreement will help ensure they are competing against the competition on a level playing field, especially in manufacturing. It will also open new markets for our farmers so they sell more Michigan-grown food to our neighbors. It has been nearly a year since this agreement was first signed and I hope the House will schedule a vote on it before the end of the year.”

“The economy could be doing even better though if the House passed the USMCA trade agreement. So it is unfortunate that Speaker Pelosi said today there may not even be a vote until next year. This agreement was reached nearly a year ago and there should be a vote soon, but it’s clear that impeachment is a more important priority for Democrats than passing a new agreement that will benefit Michigan farmers and manufacturers."

“The Sustainable Chemistry Research and Development Act will promote the safe production of products that millions of Americans use every day by improving coordination between the federal government, the private sector and the scientific community. We have incredible scientific talent in Michigan, and I am confident we will continue to be a world leader in research and sustainable chemistry for years to come. Thank you to my colleagues on the committee for their strong bipartisan support of this legislation, and I hope the entire House will take it up soon.”

"We are deeply concerned about the future of the cherry industry in Michigan, and across the country due to significant hardship caused by harmful trade practices and depressed prices. For these reasons, we strongly believe processed sweet and tart cherries should be eligible for assistance under the MFP and request your support for American farmers."

“These rural development grants will help Beaverton build the infrastructure it needs to grow and I will continue to work in Congress to support funding that benefits hardworking Michigan residents. Congratulations to the leadership of Beaverton on successfully applying for this funding and securing it for their community.”
