“This Farm Bill is crucial for the 15,000 farmers in my district who grow the food Michiganders enjoy every day. It helps them plan for the future and do the incredibly difficult work of tilling the land and raising livestock. Agriculture is one of our state’s key industries and this legislation will help ensure that for years to come.

I will work with my colleagues to help pass this important legislation when the House votes on it.”

The legislation will also make money available for rural broadband to improve online access in our communities.

This includes protecting the Great Lakes, improving our infrastructure, strengthening our national security and helping our veterans. As the only Michigan member of the House Appropriations Committee, I have oversight of federal departments and agencies. Here is an update on some issues of concern to all Michigan residents.

I hope this task force will find common-sense solutions to reform government and help a vital part of our state’s economy.
