USDA Announces New Grants for the City of Beaverton

July 12, 2019

Today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development announced two new grants for the city of Beaverton.

The department announced a $100,000 grant for the construction of a permanent pavilion for the community's farmers market. The farmers market sells fresh, locally grown food to the community.

The department also announced a $100,000 grant to upgrade and expand the roads and water infrastructure for the city's industrial park.

Congressman John Moolenaar is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, which funds the Department of Agriculture and its grant programs.

He made the following statement on today's announcement:

"These rural development grants will help Beaverton build the infrastructure it needs to grow and I will continue to work in Congress to support funding that benefits hardworking Michigan residents. Congratulations to the leadership of Beaverton on successfully applying for this funding and securing it for their community."
