"For agriculture, I think it's a win, and for the auto industry, it's a win. It's a really positive step forward," Moolenaar said. On the other hand, he added, "there is a lot of work left to do" regarding trade deals between the U.S. and the European Union and China.
"After more than a decade of inaction in Washington, the Soo Locks are receiving the attention they deserve and progress is being made," said U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar, R-Midland in a release.
"With respect to opioids it's important, we've been working on legislation that is doing research, is funding research for non-addictive pain medicines, I think that's an important thing to develop new technologies that help people without forming those kinds of addictions," Moolenaar said.
