"After months of denying relief for small businesses, Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats rushed a bill to the floor and instead of only helping the Americans who need it most, they handed out money to wealthy families," said Moolenaar. “Americans want jobs, and they want their states to trust them, by letting them safely re-open their businesses and serve their customers. State-imposed restrictions supported by Democrats are bankrupting small businesses, harming students, and creating a spike in substance abuse. With new doses of vaccines arriving every day, states should end their restrictions so Americans can provide for their families and kids can go back to school.”

“This legislation will help re-open the economy, support small businesses hurt by state-enforced closures, and give $2,400 in direct relief to a family of four,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who voted for the legislation. “I also worked across the aisle and made sure this bill takes care of important priorities for Michigan including funding for the construction of a new lock at the Soo Locks, and funding for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative to protect our Lakes for future generations.”

“I believe it is of utmost importance to ensure the integrity of our election systems,” Congressman Moolenaar stated. “There have been several reports of election irregularities in Michigan and across the country. These reports should be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest degree. The amicus brief I signed onto affirms these concerns and they merit careful and timely review by the Supreme Court. It is my hope the court will swiftly review the case to bring confidence to the American people that the 2020 election upheld the Constitution and state laws.”

“This grant will help provide education, transportation, and meals to children,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “EightCAP does important work to help those in need, and I have voted for grant programs including Head Start, because they fund local organizations and allow them to best serve the children in our community.”

“I’ve been working hard to help our community recover, including securing approval for more than $100 million in federal assistance that has come to our community to rebuild homes, small businesses, and private wells, as well as roads and bridges,” said Moolenaar. “However, there’s no doubt that the federal and state regulators failed our community when they were working with an uncooperative private dam owner. Those failures compounded over more than a decade into a devastating event that affected the lives of thousands of residents. This bipartisan legislation will address gaps in existing law and do more to ensure compliance with the safety regulations that are paramount to protecting the people of Michigan.”

“This grant for MidMichigan Health will help it confront the health issues facing our rural communities, including the opioid crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "While the pandemic has received a lot of attention, the opioid epidemic has also been a serious challenge as residents have dealt with increased anxiety and social isolation. This funding for MidMichigan Health will help it serve all the needs of our rural communities and maintain access to quality health services for residents."

“Speaker Pelosi is watching ‘Tiger King,’ while Michigan families need help paying their bills and small businesses face permanent closure,” said Congressman Moolenaar. “There is $138 billion in the Paycheck Protection Program that has already been approved by Congress, but Speaker Pelosi is blocking a vote that would re-open the program and let small businesses receive immediate relief. Let’s vote on that bill and start getting help to those who need it most without the pork the Democrats want.”
