Congressman John Moolenaar has been awarded the International Dairy Foods Association’s (IDFA) Leadership Award. This honor is given annually to federal lawmakers in recognition of their support for the U.S. dairy industry. Moolenaar was one of just two members of the House of Representatives to receive the award this year.

“One month ago, the residents of Green Charter Township made it clear they do not want Gotion in their community. Then this week, the Township Board rescinded its support as well. Sadly, but not surprisingly, a Chinese Communist Party-affiliated company has shown little interest in listening to the will of the people. I continue to believe Gotion should listen to the results of the election and the new Board of Trustees, and cancel its plans to build in Mecosta County,” said Moolenaar.

“President Biden’s push for electric vehicles goes against what the American people want and plays right into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party, which wants to monopolize critical minerals and the EV supply chain. When our nation made the shift from typewriters to computers, we didn’t need government rules to end the sale of typewriters. President Biden should end his out-of-touch EPA rules and let Americans choose the vehicles they want,” said Moolenaar.

“Michigan seniors deserve to have options when they need access to reliable long-term care, including the option to receive home care. This legislation ensures that this option is available to seniors and helps makes sure that they don’t need to travel long distances to get the care they need,” said Moolenaar. “This common-sense, bipartisan legislation will cut through red-tape and make sure that the PACE program is available to more seniors. I am proud to introduce this legislation and I will continue to advocate for Michigan seniors.

“My BOOST Act will ensure Michigan families can connect to the internet with their own hotspot or boost the internet speed they currently have. This bipartisan legislation will empower residents in rural areas who have been waiting far too long to have reliable internet in their homes. This is long overdue and will help families sooner rather than later,” said Moolenaar.

“Line 5 is a vital source of energy for Michigan families. The decision today by the Michigan Public Service Commission will help them continue to have access to reliable, affordable energy for their homes. The tunnel project is the safest option to ensure that Line 5 can remain a source of energy for years to come. I have been working in Congress to make sure federal approvals are obtained quickly to help this project move forward, but President Biden and his administration have slowed it down every chance they get. They must now act urgently instead of continuing to oppose this vital infrastructure project for Michigan jobs and energy,” said Moolenaar.

“The United States is in a competition with the CCP and under no circumstance should CCP-affiliated companies receive tax dollars from hard-working Americans. The CCP controls businesses through shell companies and banks, making it hard to tell what it really owns. These companies will take advantage of Treasury’s new rules and potentially reap billions of dollars from the American people. This decision makes it clear that Congress must pass my NO GOTION Act to help ensure CCP-affiliated companies do not qualify for these tax credits,” said Moolenaar.

“I am proud to introduce the Farmland Security Act to help protect Michigan farms and our food supply. This legislation promotes transparency to the American people on foreign shell corporations and increases penalties for foreign entities failing to accurately report their land ownership," said Congressman Moolenaar. “Farmland is a vital asset for our food supply, economy, and national security. It is more important than ever that we have the structures in place to review and assess foreign ownership.”

“Dan and I have long worked together to help the residents of Mid-Michigan, including protecting the Great Lakes and securing $170 million to improve water infrastructure in Flint. We are good friends and I always enjoyed playing in the Congressional Baseball Game with him. Now Dan will have more time to enjoy BLTs from Tony’s. I wish him and his family all the best during his final year in Congress and in retirement,” said Moolenaar.

“The Chinese Communist Party has been an accomplice to thousands of deaths in Michigan by manufacturing and shipping chemicals to Mexico to produce fentanyl. Today’s announcement is an admission by the CCP that it could have stopped this from happening a long time ago and chose to do nothing while Americans died. While President Biden was able to reach this agreement, he must demand more of the CCP including the release of all Americans being detained in China,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, a member of the House Select Committee on the CCP.
