“Students have never been more eager to return to the classroom than they are right now and school choice is vital to helping them pursue the opportunities that are best for them,” said Moolenaar. “This pandemic has shown how parents, students, and educators are willing to innovate and create new opportunities for learning, and we should support them as they make decisions that are best for them and their future. Their resiliency has been inspiring and I am proud to join them and Congresswoman Foxx this week in supporting educational choice for America’s students.”

"The brave men and women of the Michigan National Guard make us proud wherever they serve. It was an honor to meet with them and I will always be thankful for their service to our nation," said Congressman Moolenaar.

"It was an honor to attend the 59th presidential inauguration today and I am thankful to the men and women of law enforcement and the military who helped ensure this was a safe event,” said Moolenaar. “Congratulations to President Biden, and also to Vice President Harris on her historic swearing-in. I wish them the best as they lead our nation and I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address the challenges facing our country. As soon as possible, we must defeat the virus, safely re-open the economy, and create a more prosperous nation for all Americans.”

“Michigan small businesses have been crushed by state-imposed restrictions and now Joe Biden’s plan is to saddle them with a $15-an-hour federal minimum wage requirement that will make it harder for them to create jobs and hire workers. It’s time to allow all Michigan small businesses to safely re-open, innovate, and grow, without more onerous regulations coming from the federal government.”

"There is now less than a week left in President Trump's term. The Constitution is very clear on that and President-elect Biden will take office on the 20th. Next week is an opportunity for the nation to move forward and we should do that without another impeachment."

“Today’s violent and disgraceful demonstrations at the Capitol have no place in our society. The protesters who breached the Capitol today violated the rule of law and brought violence to a place where we have gathered for centuries to peacefully debate the issues facing our nation. This was a direct attack on the free society we are blessed to live in and all those who participated in unlawful activities should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. "I am thankful for the members of law enforcement who are doing everything they can to protect the Capitol and I ask all Americans to pray for peace in our country."

"Our state legislature has not contested Michigan’s Electoral College results, and none of the other state legislatures have called for their own results to be contested. I have sworn an oath to defend the Constitution. I will uphold that oath and accept the electoral results sent to Congress by the states of our republic."

“House Democrats are passing radical new rules that shut down the legislative process and stop amendments from being made to improve legislation," said Congressman John Moolenaar, who voted against the new rules. "Democrats are also banning the House from using common terms like father, mother, brother and sister, which are unique words that many people use to describe their loved ones. This political correctness is out of control, and instead of bringing people together for the start of the new Congress, Democrats are closing off debate and setting an awful example for the future."

"After months of denying relief for small businesses, Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats rushed a bill to the floor and instead of only helping the Americans who need it most, they handed out money to wealthy families," said Moolenaar. “Americans want jobs, and they want their states to trust them, by letting them safely re-open their businesses and serve their customers. State-imposed restrictions supported by Democrats are bankrupting small businesses, harming students, and creating a spike in substance abuse. With new doses of vaccines arriving every day, states should end their restrictions so Americans can provide for their families and kids can go back to school.”

“The brave men and women of our military do incredible work each day to defend our nation. This legislation will give them and their families a raise, protect our country from threats, help prevent cyberattacks, and deter aggressive actions from Iran, North Korea, Russia and China,” said Moolenaar.”
