Moolenaar: Democrats Again Refuse to Vote on Bill to Protect Supreme Court Justices’ Families
Today, Speaker Pelosi once again refused to hold a vote on the Senate bill to provide justices and their families with more security.
On May 9th, the Senate unanimously passed legislation to provide more security for Supreme Court justices and their families. On Wednesday of this week, a man showed up outside the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and said he was there to assassinate the justice. Thankfully, he was arrested before any violence occurred.
"Speaker Pelosi is leaving Supreme Court justices at risk and allowing far-left protesters to continue intimidating them and their families at their homes. It's a disgraceful low in American politics. Every Democrat and Republican in the Senate already agreed to a bill to provide the justices with more security, but she continues to block it from a vote in the House. She should hold a vote on the Senate bill immediately," said Congressman John Moolenaar.
"Additionally, Attorney General Merrick Garland needs to get to work and enforce the law. The law is very clear that it is illegal to intimidate Court officials at their homes. Yet for more than a month, he has done nothing as far-left protesters gather outside justices' homes and try to intimidate them over an upcoming court ruling," added Moolenaar.
