"Michigan families and seniors just endured another month of record inflation under President Biden. Today, they are paying an average price of $4.26 for a gallon of gas and that cost will ripple through the economy, raising the cost of food and other products they need. Before the pandemic, our country enjoyed record low unemployment and low inflation, and we can get there again by reversing Biden’s failed policies. Biden wants to blame Russia for inflation, but prices have been rising for months now, especially after Biden canceled energy projects and signed a $2 trillion bill last March that paid people extra money not to work,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“The situation in Ukraine remains dire with the latest reports indicating Russia has bombed a maternity hospital and other civilian areas. I hope that additional support for Ukraine and penalties for Russia will help Ukraine to victory over Vladimir Putin and his corrupt regime,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“I am heartbroken today by this tragic news. It is devastating for all of us who had the opportunity to work and be friends with Diane and Don. They will always be remembered for their strong faith, generous giving, and making a positive difference in the lives of so many people in our community. I join their family and friends in mourning this tragic loss.”

“President Biden says he wants to make things in America, but his actions tell another story when it comes to American energy,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “I support banning Russian oil sales, but Biden must also end the federal freeze on new American oil and gas projects, and expedite all the approvals needed for pipeline and energy development here in the United States. Taking those steps will increase the supply of American oil, create jobs and support our national security.”

“Line 5 is crucial for providing Michigan residents with reliable and affordable energy. Federal and state authorities should end any efforts to close the line and they should expedite all reviews and permitting for the tunnel, so it can be built as soon as possible. Building the Line 5 tunnel will improve safety and create good-paying jobs. I am proud to stand with Michigan families, workers, and businesses to support the Line 5 tunnel,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“The bottom line is President Biden’s first year in office has been one disaster after another. The southern border was overrun, inflation soared, gas prices hurt Michigan families, Afghanistan ended in tragedy, Russia invaded Ukraine, supply shortages stalled manufacturing, crime rose, schools left children behind, businesses could not find workers, COVID tests were mailed after the winter surge ended, and Biden recklessly tried to force unconstitutional mandates on millions of Americans. To this day, he continues to impose his own mandates on hardworking truckers and nurses while the rest of the country rejects his unpopular policies and moves forward. I have led the fight against Biden’s workplace vaccine mandate and am fighting every day to stop him and the Democrats from doing more that would make all of these problems worse. America had low unemployment and low inflation before the pandemic, and it can do so again if President Biden reverses course and stops pursuing far-left policies.”

"President Biden's release from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is a drop in the bucket and more must be done to ensure Michigan families have reliable, affordable energy. President Biden should pursue all possible energy solutions, including renewables, expediting oil and gas permits, and building energy infrastructure including pipelines and tunnels,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “I have been a longtime supporter of building Keystone XL and the Line 5 tunnel because those projects, and others across, the nation are crucial infrastructure, create jobs, increase energy supply to meet demand, and bolster national security.”

"Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine is reprehensible and anyone propping up his regime must no longer be allowed to travel to America. The legislation I am supporting will send a clear message that those responsible for helping Putin attack Ukraine are not welcome in the United States,” said Moolenaar.

"The situation in Ukraine has highlighted the need for the United States to be self-sustaining when it comes to our energy needs. With gas prices already soaring and the Biden Administration saying it will only get worse, we cannot allow the Michiganders to be held for ransom at the pump by foreign tyrants. I pledge to work with my colleagues to ensure America becomes energy independent. This includes protecting Line 5, and re-starting construction for the Keystone pipeline. These steps toward energy independence will not only lower energy prices for Michigan families, but will bolster our national security."

"We must impose severe sanctions on Russia as soon as possible, and the NYET Act will make that happen. I am supporting this legislation because it is a smart, targeted approach that will hurt Russian financial institutions and the powerful people who prop up Vladimir Putin’s government,” said Moolenaar. “It will also block U.S. exports of semiconductor chips to Russia. We need those chips here to support our economy and manufacturing. Finally, there are more than 39,000 Ukrainian-Americans in Michigan, and I am praying for them and their families. Putin’s invasion will cause massive destruction and endanger their loved ones. I stand ready to work across the aisle in Congress to pass sanctions on Russia and support Ukraine diplomatically during this dark hour.”
