Moolenaar: Don Young "Fought to Do What Was Best For Our Country"
March 19, 2022
Last night, the office of Congressman Don Young announced that he passed away at age 88. Young was first elected to Congress in 1973, and was the longest-tenured member currently serving in the U.S. House, having been in office for 49 years.
"Don Young was a sportsman who loved the outdoors and conservation, and he fiercely championed the Second Amendment and the people of Alaska. As a veteran and lifelong public servant, he fought to do what was best for our country. I will miss his humor, and the joy he brought to the House of Representatives," said Congressman John Moolenaar.
