"The Department of Energy has made the right decision by revoking taxpayer funding for a CCP-affiliated company. When are the State of Michigan and Green Township going to do the right thing? It is a historic mistake to bring these companies into our local communities when every action the CCP takes seeks to undermine America. “I voted for H.R. 2 because it will help secure the southern border and keep our country safe. President Biden’s border policies have benefited drug cartels and human traffickers, while subjecting women and children to horrific sexual abuse, and allowing fentanyl to pour across the border and kill Americans. His policies have allowed six million people to cross the border in the past two years – 30 times the population of Grand Rapids – and released many of them on the honor system to appear in court in the future. This broken status quo cannot continue and the U.S. Senate should immediately consider H.R. 2 to address Biden’s border crisis.”

"TikTok is actively working on behalf of the CCP to attack free speech right here in Michigan. CEO Shou Zi Chew must answer more questions about why he claims his company is independent but continues to censor free speech the CCP does not like," said Moolenaar. "Michigan residents simply cannot trust TikTok or the CCP.”

"Many hardworking Michigan residents decided to forgo college and instead pursue opportunities in the skilled trades. Today, they do welding, plumbing, pipefitting, and other vital services we need. President Biden wants to make them pay for the degrees and debt other people ran up at college. His unconstitutional and unfair plan penalizes people who never ran up college debt and those who paid off their loans on their own. The legislation I support will end his reckless, law-breaking attempt to spend billions of dollars with no approval from Congress,”  said Moolenaar, Michigan’s only member of the House Appropriations Committee, which decides funding levels for federal departments, agencies, and programs.

"I have been leading the effort to stop spending unused COVID funding and save money for taxpayers. President Biden has now admitted that unused COVID funding is no longer needed and said my proposal is on the table in negotiations on our nation’s spending. He should swiftly accept this common sense idea to rein in his runaway spending,” said Moolenaar. 

"CCP-controlled TikTok just censored a West Michigan think tank for telling the truth. This is yet another example of how the CCP uses its resources in America to expand its influence over our communities. TikTok claims to be independent from the CCP, but this shows otherwise. I will continue to work with my colleagues in Congress to ban Tiktok or force its sale to an American company,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.
