“Vice President Harris has the Constitutional responsibility to preside over the Senate and she did not show up for work today. She had the opportunity to publicly stand behind Israel in its fight against Hamas and it was a disgraceful decision for her not to attend,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who attended Netanyahu’s address on Wednesday afternoon. “Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech reminded everyone of what is at stake in the war against Hamas terrorists. Over nine months ago, Hamas slaughtered families, raped women, and kidnapped infants. Today, it still holds more than 100 hostages, including five living Americans and three dead Americans whose bodies it refuses to release to their families. I call on all Americans to join me in standing with Israel in its fight against Hamas and the dangerous leaders of Iran,” added Moolenaar.

“Director Cheatle failed the American people and the brave Secret Service agents under her leadership with poor executive decisions and a lack of accountability. It is a miracle President Trump is alive today. The new leadership of the U.S. Secret Service will be tasked with restoring confidence in the organization, and to do so they must be cooperative, transparent, and determined to ensure the safety of our nation’s leaders,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who called for the resignation of Cheatle yesterday.

“Americans want answers from Director Cheatle about why her agency failed to stop a deadly attack and attempted assassination. In her testimony today she was not transparent and failed to provide meaningful information. She should resign her position because the American people deserve accountability and the Secret Service deserves a better leader,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Vice President Harris’s policies have failed Michigan women and families by causing higher prices for food, raising the cost of living, and making it harder for families to make ends meet. She was appointed by President Biden to secure our border and since then, millions of people have illegally crossed the border. She also helped cover up President Biden’s declining health, and Michigan reporters should be asking her what she knew about his health and when she knew it,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“President Biden’s failed policies have caused inflation to skyrocket over the last three years and Michigan families feel the pain every time they go to the grocery store. They are also increasingly concerned that the president’s health makes him unfit for office. I hope Michigan reporters will ask the President directly if he has the capacity to serve as the leader of the free world and make crucial decisions about the safety of our servicemembers and national security,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Voting is a fundamental right for American citizens to determine who will represent them in government and lead their communities. Unfortunately, a loophole allows for non-citizens to register to vote in federal elections simply by claiming they are U.S. citizens. This common-sense legislation closes the loophole and requires proof of citizenship to register to vote. I applaud the House for passing this important bill, and the Senate should consider it immediately,” said Moolenaar.

“Michigan farmers work hard to provide the food we rely on every day. The Department of Labor has been raising labor costs on them for years and made it difficult for them to continue operating. I have met with fifth and sixth-generation farmers who worry that unless something changes, they will be the last ones in their families to farm. Passage of my legislation in the committee’s bill today is a step toward providing relief for Michigan farmers,” said Moolenaar.

“Michigan parents’ top priority is putting food on the table for their children, and sadly, that job is harder due to higher food costs caused by President Biden’s failed policies. For affordable and nutritious food, we must support family farms here in Michigan, but the Biden administration has made it more difficult for them to grow and harvest the food we need. Finally, the Senate Agriculture Committee, which is led by Democrats, should pass a Farm Bill that supports our farmers,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who represents Middleville in the House of Representatives.
