Gotion Parent Company Partners with CCP University Tied to Chinese Military

December 4, 2024

Gotion High-Tech, the parent company of Gotion Inc., has announced a partnership with Tsinghua University in Beijing, an institution with close ties to China’s People’s Liberation Army, cyberattacks, and the genocide of Uyghurs in northwest China.

“Gotion High-Tech is partnering with a university that helps China’s military. This is a dangerous partnership that will actively work against America and it is another example of how Gotion is a tool for the CCP to advance its own interests against the United States. This shows yet again that Gotion is a bad business partner for Michigan and it should not be allowed to build a factory in our state,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Specifically, Tsinghua University is used for defense research, and it has facilitated the transfer of critical U.S. technologies to the CCP. American allies have expressed concerns about Tsinghua University as well, claiming it plays an important role in the PLA’s defense research and is involved in cyberattacks.
