For over two hundred years, the men and women of the United States military have protected us and defended American values at home and abroad. We must commit to a strong national defense in order to respond to challenges from countries like China and Russia, deter rogue states like Iran and North Korea, and defeat violent extremists who know no borders.
The men and women of our Armed Forces deserve the best resources and support possible to carry out their mission to keep America safe. I am committed to ensuring our troops have the tools and training they need to be effective wherever and whenever they are called upon.

“Today’s rule from the Biden-Harris team fails to do enough to protect Michigan workers and the American people from CCP threats to our auto industry. While the administration has concluded Chinese auto components and software are a national security threat, Biden and Harris must now stop their giveaway of taxpayer dollars to CCP-affiliated companies. They should support my NO GOTION Act, which will stop Chinese companies from collecting billions of dollars from American taxpayers. Finally, while Biden and Harris talk tough on China, their EV rules play into the hands of the CCP, and make our auto industry dependent on supply chains controlled by China. “American tax dollars should never be used to further the Chinese Communist Party’s hopes to dominate key technologies at our expense. That’s why I am proud to co-lead the Decoupling from Foreign Adversarial Battery Dependence Act which would stop the Department of Homeland Security from using American taxpayer dollars to purchase Gotion, CATL, or other Chinese batteries. Our military has already banned these batteries and DHS should do the same,” said Moolenaar.

“President Biden’s border policies have failed and there is an unprecedented level of illegal crossings occurring at the northern border. This legislation tells DHS that it must annually review the threats to the northern border and use its resources to protect the American people. Michigan is a border state, and this legislation will help make sure the northern border is secure,” said Moolenaar, a member of the Northern Border Security Caucus.

A lot has changed since CFIUS was created and unfortunately, it has been left behind. My legislation will increase Congressional oversight so the problems at CFIUS will be fixed and the committee can once again protect the American people from foreign investments that pose a national security risk," said Congressman Moolenaar.
