“The Sustainable Chemistry Research and Development Act will promote the safe production of products that millions of Americans use every day by improving coordination between the federal government, the private sector and the scientific community. We have incredible scientific talent in Michigan, and I am confident we will continue to be a world leader in research and sustainable chemistry for years to come. Thank you to my colleagues on the committee for their strong bipartisan support of this legislation, and I hope the entire House will take it up soon.”

“Even though they’re a long ways away from the battlefield, hardworking men and women in Cadillac are making products that help our soldiers stay safe wherever they go. “Right now, I am working on the issues that matter most to hardworking Michigan residents, including protecting the Great Lakes, building critical infrastructure at the Soo Locks, making a trade deal with our allies, and continuing the strong economy we have in Michigan with four percent unemployment near record-lows. Unfortunately, House Democrats have been doing everything they can to try and impeach President Trump since he was elected in 2016. The impeachment announcement by Speaker Pelosi shows Democrats are bending to the socialist wing of their party at the expense of getting important work done for the American people.”

“I have worked across the aisle in Congress to move this funding forward and I am glad the Senate Appropriations Committee has followed the work my House colleagues and I did in May. With the House and Senate now in agreement, there is clear bipartisan support for getting this done and we have seen historic progress in the last year and a half after President Trump pledged his support. This is a major infrastructure project that is crucial to manufacturing across the nation and I will continue working in Congress to get this funding across the finish line.”
