“The passing of Shandra Eisenga was a preventable tragedy caused by a lack of oversight and accountability for tissue donation services. Nobody should have to go through what Shandra and her family experienced. The Shandra Eisenga Human Cell and Tissue Product Safety Act will stop future TB outbreaks and honor Shandra’s legacy. Thank you to Senator Peters and my colleagues for their support of this legislation,” said Congressman Moolenaar.

“Director Wray provided testimony today that outlined how the CCP uses its assets in America to advance its agenda and harm our country. Anyone who is serious about protecting America’s economy and national security should listen to Director Wray about the threats we face from the CCP. The MEDC and local officials in Michigan need to realize the serious risks of allowing CCP companies to build facilities in the U.S. and stop the Gotion project,” said Moolenaar after the hearing.

“President Obama’s Defense Secretary and President Trump’s Secretary of State just testified under oath that Gotion and its plans in Michigan are a national security risk. They know how the Chinese Communist Party operates and how it uses resources in America to hurt our country. They also said that it undermines our national security for states and communities to give tax subsidies to those companies. State and local economic development officials in Michigan need to listen to these experts and end the Gotion project,” said Moolenaar after the hearing.

“Students and their parents deserve the ability to choose the best education available to them. Unfortunately, some students are trapped in a failing system where test scores in reading and math have fallen to the lowest levels in decades. America’s students must be able to pursue the educational opportunities that are best for them. My colleagues and I are proud to stand with them in introducing this legislation recognizing parental rights and school choice,” said Congressman Moolenaar.

“I am delighted to announce FEMA will be providing nearly $2 million in grant funding to the Midland Center for the Arts. The Center is a staple of the community, showcasing the works of talented artists and hosting events. Following the devastating floods in 2020 we have been working to support the Midland community’s recovery, and mitigation efforts to help it get back on its feet,” said Moolenaar. “I will continue to advocate for Midland as it continues to recover.”

“Michigan farmers grow and raise food for Michigan residents and people around the world. My legislation ensures they will continue to have a reliable workforce and can make ends meet while growing the food we need. I am proud to introduce the Supporting Farm Operations Act and will continue my work to advocate for the more than 11,000 farmers living in Michigan’s Second District,” said Moolenaar.

“I voted for this legislation today to stop Biden’s burdensome and unworkable EV policies. This legislation will reduce our reliance on the CCP, spur American innovation, and protect the tax dollars of hardworking Michigan families. Biden’s plan to allow CCP-affiliated companies to receive tax dollars in exchange for EV chargers shows that his policies make our country more dependent on China, and we cannot allow that to happen. He should listen to the bipartisan majority in Congress and sign this bill,” said Moolenaar.

“We welcome this exciting news that will help to secure the future of Selfridge Air National Guard Base for decades to come. The twelve KC-46A refueling tankers – a larger unit than the eight KC-135s now at Selfridge – are next-generation aircraft that will strengthen American defense operations and capabilities for future threats, particularly as we prepare for potential conflicts in the Indo-Pacific. Operating these tankers out of Selfridge will ensure the base – and Michigan – remain essential to U.S. military strategy while supporting local jobs and our state’s robust defense sector. Our bipartisan coalition pushed for basing KC-46s and a future fighter mission at Selfridge, holding dozens of meetings and calls with senior Air Force officials and hosting them in Michigan to emphasize the importance of our state and Selfridge to national security. Our delegation is grateful to the Air Force for their professionalism throughout this process. Importantly, Air Force officials have made it clear that this decision will not prevent Selfridge from being considered for a future fighter mission. We remain committed to achieving that goal.”

“Our economic relationship with the Chinese Communist Party must change. The CCP has been using its economic aggression to take advantage of American policies. Michigan workers and businesses are hurting because of it. The policies recommended by my colleagues and I must be addressed by Congress to help ensure our country is competing on a level playing field,” said Moolenaar. “My recommendations to safeguard energy research and make sure CCP-affiliated companies do not receive taxpayer funding are crucial to the future of our nation. Congress should quickly heed the Select Committee’s recommendations, including passing my NO GOTION Act.”
