Whitehall Student Wins 2024 Congressional Art Competition

Whitehall High School senior Anna Bowyer has won the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Michigan’s Second Congressional District with her painting, “Land of the Free Because of the Brave.” Her art will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the next year, where it will be seen by visitors from around the world.

“Congratulations to Anna for her outstanding painting. Her talent will be on full display and represent our district well in the United States Capitol. Thank-you also to every student from our district who participated in this year’s Congressional Art Competition for showcasing their artistic skill and entering some exceptional pieces,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Lillian Fraly, a junior at Brethren High School, and Noah Lutz, a senior at Cedar Springs High School, were also named regional winners for their artwork. Their pieces titled, “American Patriotism” and “Home,” will be displayed in Congressman Moolenaar’s offices in Clare and Caledonia, respectively.
