Biden-Harris Hypocrisy on Display in Michigan

Today, Vice President Kamala Harris is in Michigan to announce more Biden administration spending on electric vehicles.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris claim to be looking out for American workers, but just three days ago they signed off on new rules that will let Chinese automakers qualify for tax incentives paid for by the very same American workers. It is hypocritical and the Biden administration should ban Chinese companies from qualifying for tax credits,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, the Chairman of the House Select Committee on the CCP.

On Friday, the Treasury Department announced a new rule that would allow CCP automakers to qualify for President Biden's EV tax credits. The Biden administration set a goal to have two-thirds of all new vehicles sold in the U.S. be EVs by 2032. A recent report showed that EV sales have slowed dramatically, accounting for only seven percent of cars purchased in the first quarter of 2024.
