Our nation’s veterans and wounded warriors have sacrificed in defense of our country. Their dedication and commitment, along with that of their families, has ensured our freedom and should never be taken for granted.
Our veterans deserve the absolute highest quality medical care and benefits for their service. We must ensure that returning military members have access to every benefit they have been promised, As such, Congress should focus on stringent oversight of the VA to ensure veterans are getting the services they need. I will continue to put our veterans first, and fight for legislation that removes barriers for our returning veterans.
More on Veterans
“Some veterans face challenges when they return to civilian life, including mental health and the opioid crisis,” said Rep. Moolenaar, a member of the House Appropriations Committee. “This bill gives the VA more resources to help them receive the care they earned defending our country.”
Moolenaar presented Larry Luhtanen, of Cadillac, with a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Device, Marksman Badge with rifle bar and the Vietnam Commemoration lapel pin.
This ceremony is part of Moolenaar’s goal to get the appropriate awards to Veteran’s and their families for the their brave service.
Congressman John Moolenar and Congressman Dan Kildee presented Burgess Loar with various medals and ribbons.
