"Line 5 is a vital source of energy for Michigan families. Unfortunately, the previous administration did not recognize its value to our state and fought to shut down the pipeline with bureaucratic red tape. Thankfully, the Trump administration has worked to ensure Line 5 remains open to serve Michigan residents. The Line 5 Act is a commonsense, two-page bill, which will stop future administrations from reversing the progress made by President Trump's administration on Line 5, so Michigan families can count on it to affordably heat their homes," said Congressman Moolenaar.

"Nearly every industry relies on railway to ship their goods and access markets across the world. Unfortunately, bureaucrats in California maintain the ability to supersede federal standards and institute policies that would keep vital parts of Michigan's economy, including the agriculture and auto industries, from accessing global markets. The LOCOMOTIVES Act is a commonsense proposal that stops California's policies from impacting our state, and the rest of the country," said Moolenaar.

"The electric vehicle mandate hurt our automakers and made them become more dependent on the Chinese Communist Party, which dominates the EV supply chain. President Trump’s decision to end the EV mandate will help Michigan and give our auto companies the time they need to innovate and create the best technology. It also means Michigan families won’t be pushed toward electric vehicles and will be able to choose the vehicle that best fits their needs," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Today’s rule from the Biden-Harris team fails to do enough to protect Michigan workers and the American people from CCP threats to our auto industry. While the administration has concluded Chinese auto components and software are a national security threat, Biden and Harris must now stop their giveaway of taxpayer dollars to CCP-affiliated companies. They should support my NO GOTION Act, which will stop Chinese companies from collecting billions of dollars from American taxpayers. Finally, while Biden and Harris talk tough on China, their EV rules play into the hands of the CCP, and make our auto industry dependent on supply chains controlled by China. They must end those rules and let American autoworkers innovate,” said John Moolenaar, the chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris are attempting to force the production of electric vehicles the American people do not want. This hurts Michigan’s auto companies and everyone who works in our auto industry. It also plays right into the hands of the Chinese Communist Party’s plans to dominate the EV supply chain. Biden and Harris must end this policy because it hurts Michigan jobs and creates an unfair playing field for Michigan workers,” said Moolenaar.
