“This funding will help take care of vulnerable people in mid and northern Michigan,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who voted for the CARES Act in March. “The crisis has increased food and shelter concerns for many people in our state and this will help address those issues with funding for local organizations who know our communities well."

“I wrote to Governor Whitmer on behalf of my constituents asking her to do this and I am glad she agreed with Michigan residents across the state who want to be safe while spending time outside,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “Right now, 28 percent of Michigan residents are worried about putting food on their tables during this pandemic and now they can purchase garden seeds in stores and go fishing by themselves. Michiganders cherish the outdoors, and these commonsense changes will allow them to safely enjoy more time outside.”

“I voted for this legislation because it will help Michigan families through this difficult time and give our health care professionals more resources to fight the virus,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “The small business assistance will help Michigan workers receive their salaries and help them avoid the state's overwhelmed unemployment system. Also, the funding for testing in the legislation will help our health care professionals track the virus and make it safer for the phased-in re-opening of the economy.”
