“Telehealth services have been vital to veterans as they have received care over the past couple of years and the VA Telehealth Strategy Act will require the VA to improve care and convenience for our veterans," said Congressman Moolenaar. "The POW Priority Care Act is also essential because it will help ensure that courageous veterans who endured enemy captivity will receive the care they need most. I hope the House will quickly pass both bills to help veterans receive the benefits they earned serving our nation."

“President Biden’s vaccine mandate is unconstitutional, and the federal government has no business enforcing this executive overreach on businesses and workers," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "Businesses are already struggling with supply chain disruptions and a labor shortage – the vaccine mandate will only exacerbate those issues. I will continue to oppose this mandate until the courts, Congress, or the Biden Administration bring it to a permanent end."

“Over the last year and a half, telehealth became an indispensable part of our health care system, and Michigan seniors were able to use it to meet with their doctors and access critical resources while staying safe," said Congressman Moolenaar. “Telehealth is a useful tool in modern medicine that helps increase access to care for Michigan families, while saving time for doctors and patients."

"This is a special honor for the late Steve Andrews and his entire family. Steve was a patriot who served our country in the Navy and then gave back to northern Michigan as an elected official and community leader. This legislation honors his life and will help future generations learn about his legacy of service. I am thankful to my friend Jack Bergman for introducing this legislation and proud of our entire Michigan delegation for coming together to honor this special hero for our state," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

"The federal government has no right to impose this requirement on private businesses or private citizens," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "President Biden declared that America was free from COVID restrictions in July, but now he is reluctant to let the American people make their own decisions. This federal overreach is alarming and every American should be concerned about how this president and future presidents will abuse the power of the federal government to make Americans do what they want. "I encourage everyone to get one of the vaccines and protect themselves from COVID-19, and I trust Michigan residents to do what is best for them and their families."

"This grant will support schools in Montcalm County as they teach leadership skills and resilience to students in an effort to prevent substance abuse and reduce the risk of young people using drugs,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “Many communities in Michigan have been affected by the opioid crisis or other forms of substance abuse. The Drug-Free Communities Support Program will help educate young people and their families to prevent abuse and keep residents in the Montcalm area safe and healthy."

“This legislation is vital to the fight against the opioid epidemic and it will help law enforcement keep fentanyl and related drugs off the streets so our communities stay safe,” said Congressman Moolenaar. "The opioid crisis has hurt families across mid and northern Michigan, and this legislation will help stop the flow of fentanyl and fentanyl analogues that are brought into the United States from other countries."

“The team at MidMichigan Health is doing a terrific job providing the vaccine to people in the community. It is encouraging to see that participation, and I hope everyone who wants it will sign up for their opportunity,” said Congressman Moolenaar. “Vaccines are already protecting many Michigan seniors from COVID-19, and with this week’s increased eligibility I hope younger adults will get vaccinated and help put this awful pandemic behind us.”
