“I believe it is of utmost importance to ensure the integrity of our election systems,” Congressman Moolenaar stated. “There have been several reports of election irregularities in Michigan and across the country. These reports should be taken seriously and investigated to the fullest degree. The amicus brief I signed onto affirms these concerns and they merit careful and timely review by the Supreme Court. It is my hope the court will swiftly review the case to bring confidence to the American people that the 2020 election upheld the Constitution and state laws.”

“I’ve been working hard to help our community recover, including securing approval for more than $100 million in federal assistance that has come to our community to rebuild homes, small businesses, and private wells, as well as roads and bridges,” said Moolenaar. “However, there’s no doubt that the federal and state regulators failed our community when they were working with an uncooperative private dam owner. Those failures compounded over more than a decade into a devastating event that affected the lives of thousands of residents. This bipartisan legislation will address gaps in existing law and do more to ensure compliance with the safety regulations that are paramount to protecting the people of Michigan.”

“Speaker Pelosi is watching ‘Tiger King,’ while Michigan families need help paying their bills and small businesses face permanent closure,” said Congressman Moolenaar. “There is $138 billion in the Paycheck Protection Program that has already been approved by Congress, but Speaker Pelosi is blocking a vote that would re-open the program and let small businesses receive immediate relief. Let’s vote on that bill and start getting help to those who need it most without the pork the Democrats want.”

I always enjoyed working with him in the state legislature, where he was a tenacious advocate for the Upper Peninsula and its people. His work will benefit UP communities for decades to come and I join Tom's family and friends in mourning his passing."
