Press Release

The Federal Aviation Administration has announced new grants for MBS International Airport in Freeland and Capital Region International Airport in Lansing. The funding is provided as relief for losses incurred during last year's pandemic and is made available through the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act of 2020.

"These grants will help MBS and Capital Airport serve Michigan residents and welcome visitors during the busy summer travel season in our state,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who voted for the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act when it passed the House of Representatives last year.

The FAA's grants give $35,762 to Capital Region International Airport and $28,787 to MBS. On Saturday, the TSA screened more than two million air passengers for the first time since March 2020.
