"The pandemic has created enormous challenges for rural health care, even in places that have not had a lot of cases,” said Congressmen John Moolenaar, Bill Huizenga and Jack Bergman in a joint statement this afternoon. “This funding will benefit Michigan residents and help public health officials respond to the crisis with a long-term response, while also addressing additional concerns in the community, including the ongoing opioid epidemic. We will continue to work and make sure Michigan’s rural health care providers have the resources they need to serve residents and make it through this difficult time."

“I wrote to Governor Whitmer on behalf of my constituents asking her to do this and I am glad she agreed with Michigan residents across the state who want to be safe while spending time outside,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “Right now, 28 percent of Michigan residents are worried about putting food on their tables during this pandemic and now they can purchase garden seeds in stores and go fishing by themselves. Michiganders cherish the outdoors, and these commonsense changes will allow them to safely enjoy more time outside.”

"In my district, FAA’s funding methodology has effectively penalized MBS International Airport (MBS) for running a debt-free operation and earmarking cash for future airport capital improvement projects…This may have a detrimental impact on future service levels and hurt the hardworking men and women in my district who use the airport, as well as those who work there."

“I voted for this legislation because it will help Michigan families through this difficult time and give our health care professionals more resources to fight the virus,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “The small business assistance will help Michigan workers receive their salaries and help them avoid the state's overwhelmed unemployment system. Also, the funding for testing in the legislation will help our health care professionals track the virus and make it safer for the phased-in re-opening of the economy.”

“Michigan farmers are doing an incredible job maintaining the food supply during this pandemic. However, from my conversations with them, I also know they are experiencing financial losses caused by falling demand from restaurants, schools, and businesses. The federal support announced today by President Trump will help them continue their critical operations and also bring much-needed meals to the food banks and community organizations helping Michigan residents through this extraordinary crisis.”

“The Paycheck Protection Program is saving the jobs and paychecks of Michigan workers and helping small businesses,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “Now is the time to pass more funding for this program and prevent layoffs like the 219,000 that happened in Michigan last week. I hope Democrats will stop trying to add unrelated items to a new bill and immediately agree to new funding so more Michigan workers will keep their jobs and receive their paychecks instead of being sent to the state’s overwhelmed unemployment system.”

"While the focus is on staying home and staying safe, we know that whenever we can get back to normal, Michigan families will want a convenient way to visit friends and family," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "This funding will help these airports be safe, clean, and ready to serve passengers when the public health crisis has subsided."

"This site will provide a way for those who do not normally file taxes or receive Social Security benefits to sign up and make sure they receive their $1,200 as quickly as possible. This is a difficult time for many Michigan residents and I know this payment will help make it a little easier for them."
