"Michigan and its residents have played a crucial role in our nation's history, making significant contributions in manufacturing, medicine, government, and more. The 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence serves as an important opportunity for us to rededicate ourselves to the principles that make our nation the greatest country on earth and educate young people on the legacy of the Founders and these great Michiganders. As we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, I encourage all Michigan residents to reflect on the ideals set forth by our Founders in the Declaration of Independence," said Moolenaar. 

"If there was a standardized test for TB in tissue donations from human cadavers, Shandra may be alive today. HHS must conduct this crucial research and explore how this testing can be done," said Congressman Moolenaar. "This bipartisan bill will do just that and take a necessary first step towards preventing more families from experiencing the heartache Shandra's has been through."

"The Chinese Communist Party is working tirelessly to make the PLA the world's leading military force by 2050. Through its policy of civil-military fusion, it has enlisted dozens of companies, and their subsidiaries, to assist in that goal. Beyond that, the CCP expects any Chinese national abroad to support its cause if called upon. Our commonsense legislation ensures that those who have already worked to advance the CCP's mission are not permitted in the United States, while protecting Chinese immigrants who seek to flee the regime's persecution," said Moolenaar.

“The historic flooding and major storms this spring brought significant damages to communities across our state. Since April, local leaders and first responders throughout the Second District have worked tirelessly to recover from this crisis. Still, residents and the effected communities are facing substantial costs to rebuild. I support Governor Whitmer’s request of President Trump to declare a major disaster. Today, I joined my Michigan Congressional colleagues to urge FEMA to approve this request so Michigan communities can get access to the resources they need," said Moolenaar.

"The agriculture appropriations bill is a major win for Michigan farmers, investing in research and proven programs which ensure they can succeed. It also provides critical funding to rural communities throughout our district. As the only member of the House Appropriations Committee from our state, I am committed to working with local leaders to secure federal funding for projects to ensure rural communities in our district are not left behind. Funding like this will go to help serve the communities, improve quality of life for rural residents," said Moolenaar.

“Gotion spent years trying to force itself into Green Charter Township, despite patriotic residents of Mecosta County rejecting it time and time again. Now that the State of Michigan has rightly placed it in default of its obligations to receive state taxpayer support, it has sunk to a new low and is seeking to bankrupt the town. Gotion is no stranger to seeking retribution, in text messages revealed in court documents, a Gotion executive sought personal information about those who opposed the Chinese Communist Party coming to Mecosta County. Gotion’s recent filing is only further evidence the CCP and companies beholden to it will abuse our legal system to silence those who oppose their agenda.”

"The American auto industry is vital for jobs, national security, and the future of America’s manufacturing base. China cheats in every industry, and in autos it is overproducing vehicles and components, and selling them for cheap in hopes they will put our companies out of business. In some cases, Chinese companies, including CATL and BYD, use slave labor to undercut the fair wages of hardworking Americans. These companies should not be allowed to do business in America, and their products shouldn’t be in our cars or threatening our infrastructure,” said Moolenaar.

“Food security is national security, and we cannot allow foreign adversaries like China to buy up American farmland near our most sensitive military and critical infrastructure sites. This bipartisan legislation closes dangerous loopholes, presumptively bars foreign adversaries from purchasing land, and ensures the United States has the tools to stop these farmland deals before they threaten our security. It also implements the Trump Administration’s America First Investment Policy and USDA’s Farm Security Action Plan by giving the administration the authority needed to protect United States farmland and real estate near sensitive facilities. This a top concern of the American people and I hope Congress will act quickly to pass it into law,” said Moolenaar.
