Congress should lead by example to reduce federal spending and the national debt. Since 2010, Congress has passed legislation to freeze the pay of legislators. Members of Congress and their staff are also required to participate in the health care exchanges set up by the Affordable Care Act.
Likewise, Congress should continue to exercise its oversight authority of the Executive Branch. I believe Congress must work to rein in expansion of Administrative power and uphold the legislative responsibilities given to Congress by the Constitution.

“Acting Secretary Su’s indifference to rural America has harmed Michigan farmers and their hope for a prosperous future. I have heard fifth and sixth-generation farmers in my district say they will be the last in their family to farm unless something changes. Unfortunately, the Biden administration and Acting Secretary Su are not addressing this issue with the urgency that is needed. The House should pass my Supporting Farm Operations Act to stop Biden’s increases and provide relief for farmers,” said Moolenaar after the hearing.

“Secretary Mayorkas has willfully refused to comply with the law, repeatedly lied to Congress by claiming the border is secure, and made it harder for Border Patrol agents to enforce the law. The policies he has implemented through executive action have helped drug cartels pour fentanyl into our communities and kill our loved ones, while also making it easier for the cartels to get away with human trafficking and the sexual assault of women and girls,” said Moolenaar. “On his first day in office, President Biden reversed border policies that were working and now he is leaving Secretary Mayorkas holding the bag when he knows he is truly the one who has made our country a more dangerous place for all Americans.”

Nobody should have to go through what Shandra and her family experienced. The Shandra Eisenga Human Cell and Tissue Product Safety Act will stop future TB outbreaks and honor Shandra’s legacy. “I voted for this legislation today to stop Biden’s burdensome and unworkable EV policies. This legislation will reduce our reliance on the CCP, spur American innovation, and protect the tax dollars of hardworking Michigan families. When our nation made the shift from typewriters to computers, we didn’t need government rules to end the sale of typewriters. President Biden should end his out-of-touch EPA rules and let Americans choose the vehicles they want,” said Moolenaar.

“The United States is in a competition with the CCP and under no circumstance should CCP-affiliated companies receive tax dollars from hard-working Americans. The CCP controls businesses through shell companies and banks, making it hard to tell what it really owns. These companies will take advantage of Treasury’s new rules and potentially reap billions of dollars from the American people. This decision makes it clear that Congress must pass my NO GOTION Act to help ensure CCP-affiliated companies do not qualify for these tax credits,” said Moolenaar.

Now the MEDC and Gotion should announce they are heeding the election results, listening to the will of the people, and ending this deal.
