“Chairman Mike Gallagher has done a tremendous job in highlighting the numerous threats our country faces from the rising aggression of the Chinese Communist Party. Under his leadership, the Select Committee on the CCP has been genuinely bipartisan and advanced serious policies that strengthen the United States and position our nation for victory in the competition against the CCP. I wish him all the best, except during NFL games. Go Lions!”

“Kay has been a strong leader for our country as the head of the Appropriations Committee, and she has been a steadfast advocate for national security and our military. She is a trailblazer, as the first woman to be elected mayor of Fort Worth, and the first female Republican to serve in the House of Representatives from Texas. Her leadership will be missed on the committee and I wish her all the best.”

“My amendment protects Michigan’s natural resources from being used by companies that are controlled by our nation’s foreign adversaries and it prohibits the EPA from issuing them any water permits. Under no circumstance should CCP-affiliated companies like Gotion be allowed to use Michigan’s water. This is commonsense legislation and I encourage the Senate to immediately pass this bill,” said Moolenaar.

“Secretary Vilsack had an opportunity to side with Michigan farmers today and commit to standing up for them within the Biden administration, especially with the Department of Labor. Unfortunately, Secretary Vilsack refused to do so. He should stand up for Michigan farmers and endorse my Supporting Farm Operations Act,” said Moolenaar.

“America’s veterans deserve to have the highest quality treatment available to them and requiring there to be an anesthesiologist caring for them before surgery will help ensure they receive the best care. Unfortunately, some proposals have sought to remove this requirement. I am opposed to these proposals and will continue to advocate for Michigan veterans in Congress,” said Moolenaar. “I want to thank the Michigan Society of Anesthesiologists for their support and for their advocacy on behalf of our nation’s veterans.”

“TikTok is owned by the Chinese Communist Party and we cannot allow the CCP to indoctrinate our children. This strong bipartisan legislation is an important step forward in making sure social media apps owned by foreign adversaries are prohibited from doing business in America. I am proud to support this bill to protect national security, and the Senate should pass it immediately," said Moolenaar. "I also encourage Americans using TikTok to strongly consider the personal risks of having their data owned by the Chinese Communist Party and hope they will stop using the app as this bipartisan legislation moves forward.”

“As Michigan families struggle to make ends meet, President Biden has unveiled a plan that would raise taxes and push American jobs overseas. Michiganders know Biden’s reckless spending in his first two years in office fueled record levels of inflation and higher prices on everything they buy. New tax hikes will raise the cost of living even higher and hurt Michigan again,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Michiganders are worse off today than when President Biden took office and tonight’s speech showed he is doubling down on the same failed policies that have raised the cost of living on Michigan families these past three years,” said Moolenaar. “President Biden’s massive spending and money printing caused record inflation and Michigan residents are paying higher prices for his failed agenda every day.”

“Under President Biden, out-of-control spending has become the norm, but today’s appropriations bill serves as an important step to get America back on track. This legislation will cut wasteful spending at federal agencies and ensure our veterans are taken care of,” said Moolenaar “I am also proud my work on the House Appropriations Committee to bring vital funding to the Second District to benefit our communities. This funding will address flooding issues in Midland County, renovate the fire house in Sparta, build new housing in Cadillac, build a park in Shelby, and help the Saginaw Chippewa tribe renovate its water treatment facilities.”
