Michigan residents are not misguided in their concerns about CCP-affiliated companies, and having political leaders bring a spotlight to these issues is not wrong, as Livengood seemed to suggest. In fact, more journalistic skepticism of these companies would help all Michigan residents.

“President Biden and Vice President Harris unfroze billions of dollars for Iran and Iran has used that money to fund attacks on Israel and Americans in the region. Their weakness has led to the attacks on Israel today. Their failures have completely erased the historic successes of President Trump when Iran was isolated, and Israel and the United States signed the historic Abraham Accords with key countries in the Middle East. We must unequivocally stand with Israel and never allow the terrorist Iranian regime to wipe Israel off the face of the earth,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Paul Whelan is a former Marine who has been unjustly imprisoned by Russia for more than five years. In Michigan, we prayed for his release and never forgot him as he was held by Putin’s corrupt government on bogus charges. I am thankful he will soon be reunited with his family,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“Vice President Harris has the Constitutional responsibility to preside over the Senate and she did not show up for work today. She had the opportunity to publicly stand behind Israel in its fight against Hamas and it was a disgraceful decision for her not to attend,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who attended Netanyahu’s address on Wednesday afternoon.
“Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech reminded everyone of what is at stake in the war against Hamas terrorists. Over nine months ago, Hamas slaughtered families, raped women, and kidnapped infants. Today, it still holds more than 100 hostages, including five living Americans and three dead Americans whose bodies it refuses to release to their families. I call on all Americans to join me in standing with Israel in its fight against Hamas and the dangerous leaders of Iran,” added Moolenaar.

This week, Congressman John Moolenaar and members of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party met with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, as well as Minister of Defense Ruben Brekelmans, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Caspar Veldkamp. In the meeting, the group discussed how the United States and the Netherlands can continue to work together to combat the CCP's economic aggression.

“American tax dollars should never be used to further the Chinese Communist Party’s hopes to dominate key technologies at our expense. That’s why I am proud to co-lead the Decoupling from Foreign Adversarial Battery Dependence Act which would stop the Department of Homeland Security from using American taxpayer dollars to purchase Gotion, CATL, or other Chinese batteries. Our military has already banned these batteries and DHS should do the same,” said Moolenaar.

“The 2025 NDAA is a victory for the American people and our courageous servicemembers. It’s also bad news for the Chinese Communist Party. I’m proud that the House has taken decisive action to enhance the Department of Defense’s ability to identify Chinese companies working on behalf of the Chinese military, prevent future Chinese drones from dominating our air space, and advance American research security, among many other accomplishments. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the Senate on this important legislation that will keep our country safe and make sure the United States is able to deter the mounting threats from Xi Jinping,” said Moolenaar.

“CFIUS was created with the intent of protecting America and stopping transactions that pose a risk to our national security. A lot has changed since CFIUS was created and unfortunately, it has been left behind. My legislation will increase Congressional oversight so the problems at CFIUS will be fixed and the committee can once again protect the American people from foreign investments that pose a national security risk," said Congressman Moolenaar.

“The Select Committee has uncovered indisputable evidence that Gotion High Tech and CATL have supply chains that are deeply connected to forced labor and the ongoing genocide of Uyghurs in China. That is why the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force must immediately add Gotion High Tech and CATL to the UFLPA Entity List and block the shipments of these companies from entering the United States. The American people expect companies in the U.S. to avoid all involvement with the Chinese Communist Party’s campaign of genocide,” said Chairman Moolenaar.
