"Capital Region Airport and MBS both create convenient travel options for Michigan residents and this funding will help ensure they have a safer, more convenient experience," said Congressman John Moolenaar. "The men and women working in our airports have been essential in keeping travelers safe and this funding will help them continue that important work."

“I’ve been working hard to help our community recover, including securing approval for more than $100 million in federal assistance that has come to our community to rebuild homes, small businesses, and private wells, as well as roads and bridges,” said Moolenaar. “However, there’s no doubt that the federal and state regulators failed our community when they were working with an uncooperative private dam owner. Those failures compounded over more than a decade into a devastating event that affected the lives of thousands of residents. This bipartisan legislation will address gaps in existing law and do more to ensure compliance with the safety regulations that are paramount to protecting the people of Michigan.”

“MidMichigan Community Health Services has supported Michigan residents with the health challenges they face each day and it has played an important role in helping rural communities deal with major concerns, including the pandemic and the opioid crisis," said Congressman Moolenaar. “In Congress, I have advocated for grants like this one, so MidMichigan can help people in our communities live longer, healthier lives."

“The VOCA Fix Act will provide victim advocacy and law enforcement organizations with funding so they can help people who have been the victims of crime," said Congressman Moolenaar, an original cosponsor of the bipartisan legislation. “Local organizations are best-suited to meet the needs of the communities they serve, and I am proud to work with organizations in the Fourth District on this very important issue. This legislation will help the survivors of violent crime recover and receive the support they need."

“Small businesses have been hurt by the pandemic and state enforced closures, and while the best way for them to recover is for the state to allow them to fully reopen, I know many of them are still hurting and need help,” said Congressman Moolenaar. “The Paycheck Protection Program helped thousands of Michigan small businesses last year and there is still funding left over to help those who need additional relief. State officials have created continued uncertainty with restrictions, and last month 120,000 residents gave up looking for work. I hope Michigan small business owners will make the most of this difficult situation and access funding that will help them and their workers stay in business until they're allowed to fully reopen."
