American leadership ensures global stability. We must use all possible diplomatic tools to partner with our allies and further the interests of the American people. We must also hold countries and organizations accountable for their actions and use sanctions when necessary to show the resolve of United States to stand up to rogue regimes that wish to harm our country.

"The terrorist attacks at the Kabul airport are a horrific tragedy. My prayers go out to the families of those who were killed and to those who were injured, and I continue to pray for the safety of our troops as well as the American citizens and our allies who remain stranded," said Congressman John Moolenaar.

“The catastrophic situation in Afghanistan right now is endangering the lives of brave Americans and Afghans who have worked together to defend the United States. Our country owes it to them to immediately get them out of danger as quickly and safely as possible. The disastrous events of the past few days show the Biden Administration was unprepared for what has happened. Now, President Biden must ensure safety and security at the airport in Kabul and send all of the resources necessary for our military to safely complete its withdrawal from Afghanistan while leaving nothing behind that could eventually be used against innocent civilians.”

On July 22-24, I visited our nation's southern border in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to meet with law enforcement officials there and see firsthand what is happening on the border. The sad truth is the Biden Administration’s policies are not working, and there is a crisis currently occurring as thousands of immigrants illegally cross the border each day. The whole situation is unsustainable and threatens our nation’s public safety, while also being unfair to hardworking people who legally come to the United States.

With new market access to Canada for dairy farmers and a more level playing field for Michigan workers, the USMCA will benefit the economy and create jobs,” said Congressman John Moolenaar. “Michigan workers are the best in the world and this agreement increases protections for them while cutting red tape for small businesses who sell Michigan-made products in Canada and Mexico. The USMCA is a strong trade agreement for the 21st century that will move our state and our country forward.

"President Trump kept his promise to get a better trade deal with Mexico and Canada and he delivered. I met with him on Air Force One today, and he is committed to delivering on more priorities for our state. He understands how important it is to fund the GLRI and stop invasive species from entering the Great Lakes. Most importantly, he wants to make sure the strong economy continues to grow with more jobs and higher wages for Michigan workers."

“President Trump has kept his promise to fight for a better deal for our state. This new trade agreement is a win for agriculture and manufacturing that opens new markets for Michigan farmers and creates more opportunities for Michigan-made goods. The economy is strong right now with low unemployment and raising wages, and I believe Michigan workers will continue to thrive under this new agreement because they’re the best in the world.”

“I supported this legislation because many people have forgotten this tragic history, and we must do better so future generations never forget,” said Congressman John Moolenaar, who co-sponsored the legislation and voted for it today.

“This new trade agreement with Mexico and Canada levels the playing field for Michigan workers and opens new markets for Michigan farmers, including Canada’s dairy market. Manufacturing will also benefit, and hardworking men and women will see more demand for the Michigan-made products they make every day. President Trump promised a new, fairer agreement for our country and he has delivered. I welcome the Senate's bipartisan support for this historic new agreement."
