Moolenaar Votes for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

May 13, 2015

Today, John Moolenaar (R-MI) voted in support of H.R. 36, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, to prohibit the abortion of unborn babies after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The legislation is supported by 60 percent of Americans, including 59 percent of women.

"A child in a mother's womb is a blessing. This legislation protects the most vulnerable and dependent people in our country against a tragic end, and demands that we all work harder to prepare safe outcomes for the lives of expectant mothers and their unborn children," said Moolenaar.

The House passed the legislation on a bipartisan vote, 242-184.
