Moolenaar Votes for Coronavirus Response Package

March 4, 2020

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a Coronavirus relief package that will help federal, state and local authorities respond to Coronavirus.

The legislation has $4 billion in funding for Coronavirus testing and to invest in the development of a vaccine for the virus.

There is also $1 billion from the Centers for Disease Control that will go exclusively to states and cities to respond to any outbreaks in their communities.

Finally, additional funding is also made available to support the Food and Drug Administration's work to ensure the safety of medical products that are manufactured outside the United States.

Congressman John Moolenaar voted for the legislation and made the following statement:

"The Coronavirus is a serious concern, and everyone is working to make sure our country has an effective response to the outbreak to ensure the safety of the American people. I hope everyone will continue to be vigilant about practicing good hygiene, including washing their hands, and if they think they've been exposed to the virus they should contact health care professionals."
