Moolenaar Votes Against Democrats' Spending Spree Again

December 23, 2022

Today, the House of Representatives passed a $1.7 trillion spending bill. It now heads to President Joe Biden's desk and is expected to be the fourth spending bill of more than $1 trillion he has signed into law since his inauguration. Congressman John Moolenaar voted against today’s legislation.

“President Biden and the Democrats have passed four spending bills of more than a trillion dollars in less than two years. This reckless and obscene spending has saddled Michigan families with record inflation and left them poorer than they were two years ago while they struggle to afford necessities like food and energy. There is no reason to continue spending this amount of money in such a short period of time. The pandemic is over, inflation is soaring, and Michigan residents need Washington to stop wasting money,” said Moolenaar.

"In the new year, I will continue to fight against President Biden's failed policies. I will work to rein in inflation, make America energy independent, and secure our border. America has been led down the wrong path by President Biden, and I will be working to get the country back on track."
