Moolenaar Supports Resolution Condemning Terrorist Attacks Against Israel

October 10, 2023

Congressman John Moolenaar supports bipartisan legislation condemning the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel. The resolution backed by Moolenaar supports Israel’s right to defend itself, reaffirms U.S. diplomatic and military support for Israel, and calls for the Biden Administration to fully enforce U.S. sanctions on Iran, which is the primary funding source of Hamas. On October 7, Hamas terrorists launched an attack on Israel, which has killed more than 900 Israelis and injured thousands more. The death toll continues to rise as more heartbreaking tragedies are uncovered, including beheaded babies and murdered children. Currently, an unknown number of Israeli citizens are being held hostage by Hamas. On Monday evening, President Joe Biden announced that 11 U.S. citizens were killed in the attacks by Hamas.

“This resolution sends a clear message to Israel, its enemies, and the entire world that the United States stands with Israel. As Americans, we must be resolute in our support for Israel and the Jewish people so they know they will never have to face their enemies alone. There is no doubt that Iran, Hamas, and other terrorist organizations want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. We will do everything we can to make sure that never happens,” said Moolenaar.

The text of the resolution, which has been introduced by House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and Gregory Meeks (D-NY), the top Democrat on the panel, can be found here.
