Moolenaar Supports Low-Income Energy Assistance
Today, the House passed legislation funding LIHEAP.
The legislation includes funding of the department’s general operations and $3.69 billion in funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) that helps thousands of low-income residents afford energy for their homes.
Congressman John Moolenaar voted for the legislation and made the following statement:
“LIHEAP is a historically successful program that helps Michigan residents in need of assistance with their energy bills. Today’s legislation ensures LIHEAP will be funded to help residents heat their homes, cook their food, and have warm water this winter.”
