Moolenaar Statement on Waters of the U.S. Legislation
May 12, 2015
Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1732, calling on the Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers to withdraw proposed Waters of the U.S. rules.
Representative John Moolenaar (R-Midland) supported the legislation.
"I have been vehemently opposed to the excessive Waters of the U.S. rules proposed by the EPA that would regulate mud puddles on farmers' fields. Today, the House stood up for farmers in Michigan's Fourth Congressional District, and called for the EPA to withdraw its proposed rules and listen to input from farm operators and local communities," said Moolenaar.
The bill passed the House on a bipartisan vote, 261 to 155.
