Moolenaar Statement on the Passing of Bill Lucas

Bill Lucas, the former Wayne County Sheriff and Wayne County Executive, passed away on Monday at age 94. Congressman John Moolenaar worked on Lucas's gubernatorial campaign in 1986. Congressman Moolenaar made the following statement on Lucas's passing:

"Bill Lucas was a man of integrity and humility who served the people with a gentle spirit and the courage of his convictions. He made history as sheriff and county executive, and he dedicated his life to public service. I admired him greatly and it was an honor to work with him on his campaign for governor. I join his family and friends in mourning his passing and celebrating his extraordinary life."
