Moolenaar Statement on the CBO Budget Report
Yesterday, Representative John Moolenaar (R-Midland), a member of the House Committee on the Budget, participated in the committee's hearing with Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf. Elmendorf presented the CBO's annual report on the federal budget and the economic outlook.
"Our country has serious long-term fiscal issues that need to be addressed in this Congress. Our nation faces $18 trillion in debt. We must work with bipartisan cooperation from the White House to ensure that Michigan's hardworking taxpayers have more and better-paying jobs in the future. The report from the CBO is another reminder that we must reform government spending to create opportunity for families and job creators," said Moolenaar.
Moolenaar is also a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
