Moolenaar Opposes Pelosi Spending Bill
This week in Washington, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats unveiled a new, $3 trillion bill they plan to vote on on Friday. Congressman John Moolenaar opposes the bill.
"I have been working hard to support funding for our health care professionals on the frontlines of this crisis and to protect Michigan families from the health and economic threats of the Coronavirus pandemic,” said Moolenaar. “In the past two months, I have supported direct payments to families, as well as billions of dollars for our small businesses, rural hospitals, states, and local governments. We should see how this funding helps our country first before pushing through another bill. The legislation proposed by Democrats this week would slow the economic recovery families need, burden small businesses, hurt jobs, and advance a liberal wishlist of ideas unrelated to the Coronavirus."
As an example of how funding passed in previous legislation is still getting to those who need it, yesterday, the Michigan Senate passed legislation appropriating $523 million the state received in federal funding as part of the CARES Act Congressman Moolenaar voted for in March.
