Moolenaar Introduces Legislation to Help Students & Vocational Schools

Congressman John Moolenaar has introduced the Training Assignments for Student Knowledge (TASK) Act. This legislation would allow vocational schools to continue providing high-quality job training for students. Recent legal efforts have sought to expand the definition of an employee to include these students. These efforts would drive up the cost of vocational education opportunities for students and make it harder for schools to offer job training programs.

“Vocational education provides students with affordable alternatives to college and allows them to gain the skills they need for good-paying jobs. It is vital that these courses remain available for students and the TASK Act would ensure this essential instruction remains affordable for students in Michigan and across the country,” said Moolenaar.
