Moolenaar Fights For Parents and Students
Today, Congressman John Moolenaar, co-chair of the Congressional School Choice Caucus, voted for the Parents Bill of Rights Act. This legislation would ensure parents have the right to be involved in their children's education. It includes the right to know what is being taught in classrooms, the right to protect their child's privacy, and the right to be notified when a crime occurs at school.
"Michigan students have fallen behind because of state and local governments that kept them out of the classroom. Kids were forced to learn on Zoom and when parents saw what was going on, many of them were outraged by lesson plans that were not focused on what their kids should be learning," said Moolenaar. "Parents are the best advocates for students, and this legislation ensures they can be involved in their children's education."
