Moolenaar: Biden’s Tax Hikes Will Hurt Michigan Families

March 11, 2024

Today, President Biden unveiled his federal budget proposal for 2025. His plan raises taxes, and the Associated Press admits it is “unlikely to pass the House and Senate to become law.” Biden’s budget spends $1.8 trillion more than the government is expected to take in in 2025.

“As Michigan families struggle to make ends meet, President Biden has unveiled a plan that would raise taxes and push American jobs overseas. Michiganders know Biden’s reckless spending in his first two years in office fueled record levels of inflation and higher prices on everything they buy. New tax hikes will raise the cost of living even higher and hurt Michigan again,” said Congressman John Moolenaar.

Moolenaar is the only member from Michigan on the House Appropriations Committee. Last week, he supported appropriations legislation that included the largest cut to federal non-defense spending in over a decade.
